Potentiometry

Potentiometry is an analytical technique that measures the electrical potential (voltage) between two electrodes immersed in a solution, without drawing significant current. The measured potential is related to the concentration of specific ions or molecules in the solution.

  • Commonly used with ion-selective electrodes (ISEs)
  • Suitable for pH, ion concentration, and titration endpoints
  • Available in benchtop and portable instruments for lab or field use
